1980 – 1994 Bass player with Welsh Language punk band ANHREFN – tour Europe constantly – the aim is to take Welsh Language Rock’n Roll as far as we can take it .

1983 – 1989 runs an independent label Recordiau Anhrefn releasing early records by Cyrff , Datblygu , Llwybr Llaethog , Fflaps , Tynal Tywyll etc

1987 Anhrefn become the 1st Welsh Language Band to sign to an International Recording Company and record two albums “Defaid , Skateboards & Wellies” 1987 and “Bwrw Cwrw” 1989 for Worker’s Playtime (Alternative Tentacles) |
1990 Anhrefn sign to Crai a Label set up by Dafydd Iwan within Sain and release their best known song “Rhedeg i Paris” |
1993 Rhys starts working on a freelance basis for Crai signing Catatonia and releasing two Eps “For Tinkerbell 1993 and Hooked 1994 before Catatonia sign to Warner Brothers. During this period Rhys works as “acting manager” for Catatonia. |
1994 start work on the HEN WLAD FY MAMAU project with Jamie Reid (Sex Pistols graphics) and Anhrefn members Sion Sebon and drummer Dafydd Ieuan (now with Super Furry Animals) . The project mixes harps with hip hop beats and punk rock with techno . |
1996 Hen Wlad Fy Mamau tour USA and sign with Richard Branson’s newly formed V2 Label with whom two singles were released , “Tra Di Di” 1997 and “Dis-UK” 1997 . |
1997 Hen Wlad are dropped by V2 - Rhys gets into the management business and starts working with new Welsh band GWACAMOLI . |
1998 Rhys signs BIG LEAVES to Crai for two Eps and a Welsh Language album . Also signs ANWELEDIG in 1998 and TOPPER in 2000 as recording artists for the Crai Label . |
1998 Miri Madog Festival is established with Clwb Chwaraeon Madog providing the site and Rhys promoting the bands – with the aim of showcasing emerging Welsh talent |
2000 forms new band MANGRE with Sion Sebon just to get back into playing rock’n roll – there is no manifesto !!!! |
2001 sole Manager for GWENNO / Lisa Pedrick and co Manager for TNT |
2002 Outstanding Contribution to Welsh Music Award (Radio Cymru) |
2003 relationship with Crai comes to an end and Rhys sets up a new company to include management / agency / consultancy / PR and A&R |
2003 Outstanding Contribution to Welsh Music Award (Welsh Music Awards) |
2006 Autobiography ‘Cam o’r Tywyllwch’ published by Y Lolfa. Gruff Rhys and Cerys Matthews contribute sleeve notes.
Rhys Mwyn and Sion Sebon start playing Anhrefn acoustic gigs. |
2007 Anhrefn Records is re-activated.
