"Very strong stuff"
Harold Pinter

"Thoughtful, provocative and challenging, these poems engage and enrage."
Peter Tatchel

“The poems aren't actually much good, they hardly rhyme, they rarely scan or have rhythm, but they possibly have enough profanity and references to female genitalia to get the literati excited. One of them, to which Christians are taking the greatest exception, includes the blasphemous assertion of sex between the poet and Mary Magdalene and Jesus.”
Stephen Green, Christian Voice

“Tongues for a stammering time” by Patrick Jones will be released on the 25th May on Anhrefn Records. It will feature collaborations with Nicky Wire and James  Dean Bradfield from The Manic Street Preachers, Billy Bragg, Beverley Humphreys,Steve Balsamo, Martyn Joseph, Amy Wadge, Henry Priestman,Stacey Blythe, Ian Devine, Greg Haver and Studio Arcade, Lethargy, New State Radio, Julian Gardner , Dean Meyrick, Perigo Minas, Defiance of God and  Jeb Loy Nichols. It is produced by Les Davies (singer and guitarist with Squeezebox) who also plays on four tracks. The album promises to provoke, move and reach its audience with tracks that address personal struggles, religious hatred, fathers denied rights to their children, the monarchy, war, the right of asylum and the treatment of women by religions as well as swirling melodies, snatched soundbites and hopesprung songs that aim to commune with the listener and bear witness to the human condition.

Following in the tradition of Patti Smith, Allen Ginsberg and John Cooper Clarke  fusing spoken word with music,  “tongues for a stammering time”   is the creative glue between poetry, politics and music and stands alone amongst the artistic  output of 2009 so far.

Performances at The Hay Festival, 25th May, The Wrexham Arts Festival June 3rd, Chapter Arts Centre  30th May as well as a reading tour supporting Billy Bragg on his Miners’ Strike 25th Anniversary Tour in June.
